DECKING AND PERGOLAS
 

DECKING

During the past ten years or so decking has become more and more popular in providing a clean and stable base in the garden environment in which to eat, entertain, simply sit or from which to view our fish. Decking can hide a multitude of sins such as an old slab patio or a constantly wet area. We can hide our filters underneath it and it can provide easy access to a multi height garden.

Decking has come a long way from when it first appeared on the market and is now available in softwood, hardwood and even plastic. Non-slip versions are available and even boards that have Astroturf inserted into it. A vast range of stains are also available to give a deck that “personal touch”  

BoxweldUK has been decking garden areas now for a number of years and we pride ourselves on our knowledge of decking systems and our craftsmanship.
The picture above right shows a deck that was built over an old uneven patio area that flooded each time it rained. Now it provides a clean and even surface and which the family can now use for whatever purpose they see fit!
PERGOLAS

Sun, rain and snow. Whatever the time of year there is always something that both ourselves and our fish will need protecting from.

A simple wooden built pergola provides shade from the summer sun to both ourselves and our fish.

Adding a simple and lightweight polycarbonate roof then transforms our simple structure into an all weather area. This area can be used for whatever your imagination will allow but will protect us all the same. No more feeding the fish in the rain! Most polycarbonate roofing systems provide a degree of UV protection as well which will help our water to stay clear* and allow us to see our fish more clearly. The picture below right shows a pond and seating are that is protected from the elements and now provides an all year round viewing platform from which the owners can watch their fish no matter what the weather is doing.

  With winter comes the inevitable question of heating. Question is not how to heat but how do we retain this heat? Boxweld UK can make bespoke polycarbonate covers made to the exact dimensions of your pond. The only thing you have to decide is how thick you would like the polycarbonate to be and we will do the rest!

Each panel sits neatly within its own timber frame which gives it weight to stop the sheets from blowing around in the wind. It also stops accidental damage from occuring when lifting and storing them.
Available in non and uv resitant, clear or opaque.
If your pond looks anything like the one above right then why not encase the whole pond with polycarbonate? Easy to remove panels and access doors allowing you to easily check on your fish throughout the winter months.
